Geological time scale as a spiral

Every time when I look at geological time scale, it is to remind me how small and trivial the human life is, the same as I stare at the night sky, populated with countless stars, and marvelled at the mighty of universe, the infinite ocean of cosmos in which we reside only no more than the scum.
